LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Greetings from Gully TV land to formally set off our inaugural issue. I'd like to first and foremost tell you a little about myself. My name is Jamil, I'm the founder and executive producer of Gully TV LLC. Founded in Albion state penitentiary in the fall of 2004. Gully TV, LLC was originally just a script written for Vickie Stringer of the Triple Crown Publications Brand as a reality show. Vickie Stringer passed on the opportunity to release "Gully TV Live" under the TCP label. Not deterred by the lack of support at Triple Crown. I decided to take my camera, notes,& ideas to Atlanta, GA for possible release in a DVD format but unfortunately a lack of structure and support forced Gully TV to relocate to Erie, Pennsylvania in August 2005. Mentally and financially broken I took my camera to New York City (harlem) and started my journey to become one of the most recognized online urban entertainment brands in the county along side VLAD TV,THISIS50.COM and MEDIATAKEOUT
Over the years we've brought you a roster of the who's who in music and Hollywood including Obie Trice, Redman, French Montana, Gucci Mane (highly publicized) fight with Co-Star Mac Breezy in Atlanta, Shawty Lo, Baby (Cash Money Records), Hot Sauce (Street Ball Kin) former drug king pin "Freeway Rick Ross",Cassidy, Papoose,DJ Kay-Slay,The Drama, King, Max B Comedians Kevin Hart, Mike Epps, and Michael Blackson, Tone Trump, Gillie The Kid, and AR-AB of OBH, Lord Tariq, Chi Ali, Erick Sermon, Famous Bank Robber, and Black Hand C.E.O. I've even covered Tommy Hill naw, not Tommy Hill of the fashion industry the other Tommy Hill OF THE RAM SQUAD from North Philly. I can go on and on dropping names of people in high places who participated in the momentum that lead to the publication of my very own magazines.
"Why publish a magazine?" The number one reason I'm bringing you Gully TV the magazine is simple I like magazines.
I've always liked magazines.Ok, I love them. I have them all over my house. I have them at my mothers house. And if I was in any type of relationship of course you could fine a few of my magazines at my girlfriend's house.Source Magazine, O-M-G, there was no way of easing the pain and frustration of incarceration in the early 1990's like the source. The Source subscription made doing jail time so much more bearable. One magazine every 30 days, 12 magazines in a subscription. Its Twelve months in a year so if a guy is doing a 5 to 10 year sentence he's basically doing 5 subscriptions and he's going to get 60 magazines. Sixty magazines SHEESH glad that part of my
life is over
Robb Report, Jet, Ebony, Essense, Source, XXL, Vibe, Rolling Stone, Time, Sports Illustrated, SLAM, Street and Smith's, Complex, Respect, Don Diva, Feds, Urban Ink, Murda Dog, Forbes, Straight Stuntin, Smooth, King, Mens Health, Black Enterprise, Maxim, People, Playboy, popular mechanics ect. ect.
Oh, how I coveth thee, I hoard magazines and I prefer to read a good magazine with informative articles penned by Intelligently opinionated writers as opposed to watching television. Speaking of TV I do not watch much more than sports TV programming.
NETWORK TELEVISON seems to have a motive & agenda
so I'm good with my magazine.
"Magazine's, Magazine's, Magazine's everyone loves a good Magazine's" Good Magazine's are enshrined in plastic and saved instantly becoming time capsules. Where were you when Janet was on the cover of the VIBE magazine??? My gift to you all to everybody who loves to read magazines. Gully TV The Magazine
Peace and Love
